Visit of the famous medieval city, unique heritage in France, also listed in the UNESCO world heritage. Carcassonne is the first site visited in Southern France with more than 4 millions visitors each year. Its castle and fortification (which were built in the 19th century by Violet le Duc) are a mandatory step for people who want to discover the medieval history of the region. This is an authentic trip into knights' time!!!
Program: Departure 9 am Morning: Walk from the ancient medieval bridge on the river Orb to the fortification and leisure time in the city.
Midday: possibility to taste the famous meat and bean stew (special regional dish made with sausage and flageolais) in a typical restaurant.(menu from 12 euro).
After lunch: Visit of the Comtal castle and its remparts (wonderful panorama of the city and the region of Carcassonne), followed by the vision of a movie about the building steps of the city, from the Roman time to the 19th century.
Afternoon: a glass of red wine of the Colombière and marron glacés (regional characteristic dish) will be offered at the end of the visit. Return 7 pm
