Avignon

Discovery of the Pope's city; first bridge on the river Rhône and the Pope's recidence for more than one century, Avignon, listed in Unesco World Heritage, was also elected as European capital in 2000.

Program:

Departure at 9h

Morning: Visit of the Pont Saint Bénézet, famous  thank to its song "sur le pont d'Avignon...". Visit of the cathedral of the Dom. Seesighting of the Pope's Palace. Panorama over the river Rhône and the Alpilles.


Midday: opportunity to taste a lot of culinary specialties of the city such as the candied melon, known as"papalines" .

After lunch: visit of the Popes' Palace that was their residence during the XIV century, and also the biggest baroque palace in France.


Late in the afternoon: the visit continue inside the tunnels of the palace to get a fine degustation of different wines of the Rhone's coasts.

Return at 18h30
